Matsumoto Houji ( ? ~1800) was a picture framer as regular occupation in Edo period, and also was a wonderful painter. It is said that he raised rare frog and collected goods relating frog, and painted pictures showing frog and other animals.
Beside painting by himself, he also collected excellent paintings and calligraphic works. He kept company with person of culture, it fostered the flourishing the culture in Osaka.
In this exhibition 40 articles are on display, it approaches the town-people in Osaka who made effort raising cultures.
